1950s Blush Tulle Gown With Taffeta Sash

A truly breathtaking original 1950s prom or evening dress by Will Steinman Original, beautifully combining soft blush pink tulle with a dramatic scarlet red draped sash for an unforgettable silhouette.

This wonderfully feminine gown features a structured, lightly boned bodice that provides beautiful shape and support, overlaid with delicate blush pink tulle. The full skirt falls gracefully, creating the classic 1950s silhouette, while the striking red taffeta-style sash drapes elegantly across the bodice and cascades down one side of the skirt for a wonderfully theatrical finish.

The dress fastens with a side zip and hook-and-eye closures, with additional hook-and-eye fastenings securing the sash neatly over the zip for a beautifully finished look.

Condition

Great

There are a couple of small tears to the outer layer of blush pink tulle. These are well disguised by the layers beneath and are not particularly noticeable when the dress is worn.

The hem also has a few slight irregularities. We have deliberately left these unaltered, as preserving the original length may be preferable for the next owner. Depending on your height, the current length may be ideal, and these minor imperfections are easy to overlook in favour of retaining as much original fabric as possible.

The red sash has areas of visible yellow stitching. To the best of our knowledge, the dress has not been altered. Although the sash is an unusual design element, the way it has been constructed and attached strongly suggests it is an original feature of the dress rather than a later addition.
